Hits:325 Date:2025-03-14

[Collection Name]: Jilan Glazed Golden Elephant Ear Bottle

[Historical Era]: Qing Dynasty

[Collection size]: Height 37.5 cm, caliber 19 cm, base diameter 15 cm

The device has a disc-shaped mouth, a long neck, and symmetrical elephant ears on both sides of the neck. The shoulder is folded downwards and gradually retracted, with the feet circled. The whole body is coated with high-temperature blue glaze, and there is no glaze exposure inside the feet.

This bottle has a dignified and antique shape, with a uniform and deep glaze color, and a glossy glaze surface, conveying the meaning of "peace and imagery". The body of the vessel is depicted in small regular script with the golden inscription of Su Shi's "Red Cliff Ode" on it. Although there is color fading, the exquisite craftsmanship can still be seen.

The book "Shuo Wen Jie Zi" records: "Ji, the rain has stopped. And Ji Lan is the blue of the sky after the rain clears, like water washing, fresh and elegant. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the blue glaze in porcelain was commonly referred to as "Ji Lan", which inherited the craftsmanship of the Yuan Dynasty and continued to be fired continuously. Its main design is based on sacrificial vessels and porcelain for display, with furnaces and vases being the most common.
