The exhibition hall of Qingdun site museum consists of a preface hall and three chapters.

The preface hall takes "source" as the intention, and sets aside layers of history, symbolizing that Qingdun is the source of river and sea civilization. The theme relief takes the river, sea and river as the background, uses the Jade Phoenix carved by the ancestors to show the theme of Fengming Qingdun, and combines the legends of Pangu Kaitian and Fuxi Bagua, which not only shows that Qingdun culture reflects many civilization factors of Chinese civilization. It also reveals that Qingdun culture is the origin of civilization in the east of Jianghuai river.

The theme of the first chapter is "discovery, world attention". This chapter comprehensively shows the detailed process of Qingdun site from discovery to excavation with a large number of precious historical materials, old photos and video. Qingdun site was discovered by the young Dun brigade when excavating Qingdun New River in the west of Dun in 1973. Villagers found a large number of ancient relics such as pottery, stone, bone utensils, elk antlers and animal bones when excavating the river. Then Nantong Museum began small-scale trial excavation of the site. In 1978 and 1979, Nanjing Museum conducted large-scale excavation of Qingdun site twice. A large number of pottery, jade, stone tools and bones were unearthed in the three excavations. It was determined by the archaeological community that Qingdun site is a typical primitive cultural site in the east of the Yangtze and Huaihe River. Its discovery not only answers the long-standing question of "when does the civilization history of the areas north of the Yangtze River and east of the canal begin" in the Chinese archaeological community, The civilization history of Hai'an and its adjacent regions has been pushed forward for more than 3000 years, which provides strong evidence for confirming the existence of independent primitive culture in the east of Jianghuai.

The theme of the second chapter is "time shines on the field, through the Millennium". This chapter fully demonstrates the characteristics and cultural content of Qingdun site by combining graphic display boards and interactive digital multimedia, respectively in the form of point, line and surface, dynamic and static combination, scene interaction combination and offline and online combination.
The scene restoration part vividly shows the living scenes of the original ancestors of Qingdun, such as living, farming, hunting and pottery making. The audience can understand the production and life of our ancestors more than 5000 years ago, which gives the audience a sense of history and looks like walking into the ancient Qingdun. The graphic display board is also supplemented by text introduction from the aspects of clothing, food, housing and transportation, domestication, utensils, dry fence house building, tombs, rites and sacrifices of the ancestors of Qingdun.

The physical exhibition area shows some of the unearthed cultural relics of Qingdun site. Whether it is stone tools, pottery, jade and bone horn ware, they are the most advanced production or living tools created by ancient ancestors in the riverside and sea area in the late Neolithic age. Their production skills, processing accuracy and aesthetic level are amazing.

The theme of the third chapter is "see Qingdun again, the future can be expected". Based on the historical value of Qingdun site, this chapter highlights the regional characteristics of Hai'an, echoes the contemporary development of Hai'an, focuses on the economic and cultural development achievements of Hai'an today, and reveals the unique impact of Qingdun site on seeing the present and enlightening the future.
