    Thang GA, also known as tangga, Tangka, is a Tibetan transliteration, referring to religious scroll paintings mounted with colored satin and hung for worship. Thangka is a unique art form of painting in Tibetan culture. Its subject matter involves many fields such as Tibetan history, politics, culture and social life; Most of the handed down thangkas are works of Tibetan Buddhism and Buddhism.

 

 

    Thangka is a unique painting art form in Tibetan culture. It has distinct national characteristics, strong religious color and unique artistic style, and depicts the sacred Buddha world with bright colors; Traditionally, gold, silver, pearl, agate, coral, turquoise, malachite, cinnabar and other precious mineral gems as well as saffron, rhubarb, indigo and other plants are used as pigments to show their sanctity. These natural raw materials ensure that the painted Thangka has bright color and dazzling. After hundreds of years, It is still gorgeous and bright. Therefore, it is known as the treasure of Chinese national painting art, the "Encyclopedia" of Tibetans, and a precious intangible cultural heritage in Chinese folk art.

 

 

    The drawing of thangka is demanding and the procedures are extremely complex. It must be carried out in accordance with the rituals in the Scriptures and the requirements of the guru, including a complete set of process procedures such as pre painting ceremony, making canvas, composition and drafting, coloring and dyeing, line drawing and shaping, gold and Silver painting, eye opening, sewing, mounting and polishing. Making a Thangka takes a long time, half a year in the short and more than ten years in the long.

 

 

    Silk pinched gem thangka is a palace temple style in traditional Thangka. It is characterized by simple and traditional picture modeling, in strict accordance with the ancient style, with gilt wire as the line and natural gemstones as the color filling modeling. It is also the most minority art category in Thangka, which is rarely spread in Han areas. It is also a kind of high-grade silk pinching gem rock color painting with the least output and the longest preservation time in the Thangka family.
