Collection Name: Clear Pink Grass Insect Melon Bowl Collection period: Qing Dynasty Collection size: height 6cm, mouth 13.5cm, bottom 5cm This collection is a third level cultural relic in the museum's collection, made of porcelain with complete appearance, pure white body, and exquisite craftsmanship. The bowl mouth is shaped like a melon ridge, with a curved belly and circular feet. The outer mouth is decorated with gold thread, and the belly is painted with cordyceps pattern in pink. The lines are soft, the colors are bright, and the painting is delicate. The composition is full and refreshing. Pink color appeared during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, and was a new variety created and fired based on the five colors and directly influenced by enamel color. Pink color, also known as "soft color", is a type of glazed porcelain. Pink porcelain adopts "glass white" and is closely combined with painting techniques. "glass white" is actually an opaque white opacifier. Under this effect, it can make the color painting appear like changes in color on rice paper, enhancing the expressive power of the color painting, making the picture naturally soft, elegant, and beautiful, full of Chinese painting charm. The washing and dyeing techniques of pastel in painting draw on the advantages of art such as five colors and enamel colors, adopting the techniques of dot dyeing and color matching to make the depicted images clear in contrast and distinct in layers, demonstrating a unique artistic charm.
