[Collection Name]: Wei Hongtai Colored Glazed Guanyin Sitting Statue
[Historical Era]: Republic of China
[Collection Size]: Height 49cm, Bottom Diameter 24cm

The statue was made by Wei Hongtai during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China period. This product has a large size, larger than the typical Buddha statues of the late Qing and Republic of China. The Guanyin statue is dressed in a blue and blue wide robe and robe, with a dignified figure. The chest is decorated with pearls and tassels, and the pleats of the clothing are smooth and beautiful. The long skirt covers the feet, the right leg is supported, the left leg is coiled, and the right arm is placed on the right knee. Holding a prayer bead in the right hand and a clean bottle in the left hand, sitting on a lotus flower as a whole. There is also a symmetrical lotus statue under the lotus flower, resembling a reflection in the water, echoing the style of the Water Moon Guanyin. The bottom is stamped with the four characters "Made by Wei Hongtai" in two line regular script. Sitting with a plump and round face, kind eyebrows and Han eyes, a gentle and peaceful smile on the corners of the mouth, as if overlooking the multitude of people.

Wei Hongtai was a famous porcelain maker during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. His surviving works are mostly immortal, Buddhist, and Taoist, with accurate shapes and smooth lines. Similar works can be found in the Jingdezhen Ceramic Collection.
